Rachel Mills was born in Buffalo NY. She moved to Canada at eleven with her family, and to Scotland at nineteen. She lives and works in Glasgow. Mills is a second generation artist who began creating at an early age through her artist mother’s influence. She has always been drawing and painting animals as a child and adult, and has used nature as a retreat. Her fascination with the natural world has continued into her adulthood, with the natural world being the subject of many of her paintings. Her art often deals with themes involving the passage of time and emotional responses, whether from the viewer or from her self. She graduated from Haliburton School of Art + Design in 2017 from their drawing and painting program.
